I have taken spanish lessons online with Shahima for about 6 months and the experience has been fantastic!  I started as a beginner with no knowledge of the language and I am shocked at the progress i have made.  In 6 short months with her, I am reading, writing, speaking and understanding Spanish.  Shahima is an excellent teacher - professional and experienced, always patient,  and passionate about the language and teaching.  The classes and homework are well structured, challenging and fun.  She has insisted from the beginning that we speak in Spanish during our lessons, and this is what has helped me progress so quickly.  Also which is very important to me is her flexibility with scheduling classes.  I live in a different country/time zone and sometimes I get very busy with work and family, but I am always able to reschedule classes to a time that is convenient for me.

I look forward to my spanish class all week, and if you are serious about learning Spanish, I highly recommend Shahima.

During each lesson, we did a new fun, learning activity and Shahima really pushed me to be better. We read, listened to great music and even did interviews with local Spanish speakers. I never thought I would read a novel in Spanish, but after just a few months of lessons with her, I was able to read novels in Spanish for pleasure! I learned with Shahima right before I went to live in Ecuador for 6 months and compared to other American students, I felt that my grasp of the Spanish language was truly great. My confidence in speaking the language improved immensely. Without her help, I do not think that the transition would have been as smooth. For the past two years, I've been working with Shahima as my Spanish teacher. I started from scratch on Day 1. Today, I can confidently express myself and enjoy movies, music and books in this beautiful language. I can truthfully say that without Shahima's patience, guidance and direction, I would not be at the level I am today. The quality I like most about Shahima, is she that she challenges me to be better every week.
